Since it was set up in 1987 by the dog and cat food company Affinity Petcare S.A., the Foundation has tried to promote the benefits of pets in society.
The Affinity Foundation has worked with its associates to carry out a multitude of research projects aimed at finding out more about the bond established between humans and pets, as well as doing everything in its power to stop pets being abandoned and investigating and promoting the benefits of Pet-Assisted Therapy and Education.
We believe in and support the adoption and responsible keeping of pets. We know that keeping pets contributes to improving people’s health and quality of life so we won’t stop until we have reached a point where animals are justly accepted in society, abandonment has been totally eradicated and adoption has become a fully established practice.
Animals provide company and unconditional love, regardless of our race or creed. We know they will provide endless friendship and help you become a better person.
In return for this, all you need to do is care for them and protect them.
Our main work areas
The 3 main areas in which we focus our efforts are: research, social action and awareness. The common element of all these areas is to highlight the bond between people and pets, especially the benefits that derive from that emotional bond.
